"The Creator is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Creator is my life's strength, whom shall I dread? One thing I asked of the Almighty, that shall I seek - that I dwell in the House of God all the days of my life, to behold the sweetness of my Creator and to contemplate in His Sanctuary." Tehillim/Psalm 27:1-4

There are so many moments during the day when we are overcome with fear and anxiety, overwhelmed with the task before us. The mind goes around in circles, and no help comes to relieve the phantoms we imagine. King David is reminding us to stop the negative cycle and remember who’s running the show!

The Creator is the light in the darkness of fear and uncertainty. Simply being aware of God’s Presence is salvation and our source of strength. The psalmist seeks only to be at home with God, in constant union with the Divine Presence. The House of God was the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. It is also the sacred ground of our being, the sanctuary where we contemplate the Divine within.

Together we can make this earth a dwelling place for God. This month, seek ways you can bring godliness to the world around you. Take time to meditate daily in your sanctuary and to taste the sweetness of union, at home with the Beloved.
