“The righteous shall flourish like the date palm; growing like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of G-d, they shall flourish in the courts of our Lord. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; vigorous and full of richness; to declare that the G-d is just, my Rock, in whom there is no wrong.” Tehillim/Psalm 92:14-15

The Hebrew letter tzadhe, at the center of this Magen David, is the first letter of the word Tzaddikim or “righteous ones.” The painting is dedicated to them, those individuals throughout history who have brought us the light of the Torah and the Lord., and have spread blessings like far-reaching vines.

Notable tzaddikim are our forefathers: Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (and their feminine counterparts, our Holy Matriarchs,) Moses, Rabbi Akiva, Rashi, Rambab, and the tzaddik I read most frequently - Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto. This painting is dedicated to all those righteous ones who have been, and all those who are to come.
