“Grant abundant peace upon Your people Israel eternally, for You are the King, Lord of all peace. May it be pleasing in Your eyes to bless Your people Israel at every season, every hour, with Your peace.” Shalom Rav - Traditional Prayer

The word Shalom meaning “hello,” “goodbye,” and “peace” has deep significance to the Jewish people. We pray for peace, not only between the peoples of this world, but spiritually between ourselves and G-d. My painting depicts the two most important channels through which we can achieve peace in all ways.

At top is the letter yud, the first initial of the Holy Name, and at the bottom are the Luchot, the two tablets within the Ten Commandments. By looking to G-d above, and following the Commandments here on Earth, we will know how to conduct ourselves in holiness and establish peace wherever we go.
