On the day of the first fruits, you will bring a meal-offering to the Lord on the Festival of Weeks, and there shall be a holy convocation for you. Devarim/Deuteronomy 16:9

The Feast of Weeks celebrates the season of the harvest in Israel. Falling exactly seven weeks after Passover, the Torah declares Shavuot (“weeks”) the end of the harvest, and the time when the first fruits of the land were brought to Jerusalem as a thanksgiving for the Lord.

More importantly, it marks the day the Ten Commandments were given to the Jewish people at Mt. Sinai.
