"G-d saved - and on that day - Israel from the hand of Egypt and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.

Israel saw the great hand that G-d inflicted upon Egypt and the people feared Him, and they had faith in the Lord and in Moses, His servant.

Then Moses and the Children of Israel chose to sing this song to G-d, and they said the following:

I shall sing to G-d for He is exalted above the arrogant, having thrown horse with its rider into the sea.

G-d is my might and my praise, and He was a salvation for me. This is my G-d, and I will build him a Sanctuary; the G-d of my father and I will exalt Him... '
